Mill City Americana
Nearing the twentieth century, the Twin Cities entered their "boom" time. Minneapolis alone experienced an increase of nearly 1,300 percent in population as immigrants moved to work in the mills and other industries. But industry was not the only aspect of life that grew.
A great wealth of musical repertoire emerged from the streets and homes of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Mill City Americana tells the colorful narrative of how prosperity inspired the lives and writing of composers. This concert program showcases--visually and musically--some of the most fascinating moments in the Twin Cities' history and the music that strove to capture the energy and spirit of those thrilling and lively times. Our mystery local celebrity hosts this concert that is guaranteed to delight audiences.
